Former Gallo-Roman station on the Orléans-Sens road, on the edge of the Orléans forest, Chambon-la-Forêt has preserved a rich heritage from its long past. The beautifully flowered communal wash-house, on the banks of the Petite Rimarde, welcomes the visitor and leads his steps towards the Saint-Etienne-Sainte-Mesme church, whose high nave and chevet were rebuilt at the beginning of the 16th century. The small funeral chapel of the Narbonne family, built in 1860, is nearby.

The Château de Chambon was rebuilt at the beginning of the 17th century on the site of a former fortified castle, of which two round towers remain on the south side.
