Nestling at the bottom of the green Betz valley, Chevry-sous-le-Bignon is a charming village that has preserved its old buildings and carefully restored village houses. Chevry-sous-le-Bignon lovingly maintains its natural environment and its small heritage. Thus the beautiful communal wash-house built in 1903 below the Baslin bridge, has been restored and enhanced. As well as the stone porch of the cemetery: the pediment which surmounts the portal is painted, and carries in triangle, framing the date of construction (1892) the republican motto unusual in these places: FREEDOM, EQUALITY, FRATERNITY, FRENCH REPUBLIC
Two mills, now private residences, were in operation on the banks of the Betz: the mill of the village and that of Fouchereau.
